The Trail:This trail is very popular that can be found in the Wells Book and is relatively easy to run up to near the cabin. There a rock garden near the end of the trail that makes it 3.0. Getting a little rougher:
Near the rock garden - which is were we parked. It was a 1/4 mile walk to the cabins from here:
Entrance to a mine near the cabins. We didn't have a light so we didn't go in:
End of the trail - one of the walls in this cabin has fallen:
This one is in better shape:

After lunch and checking out the area we left through Box Canyon. Date: 1/1/2009Suspension: TeraFlex 2.5" Spring Lift, stock wheels and tiresPhotos:We decided to go though the rock garden this time. I misjudged and the tire slid to the wrong side of the first boulder but fortunately it didn't hit anything. We had a small group watch us head in. Here's the video. We decided to investigate the mine near the cabins. It's not really a mine. Turns out it was a cantina, bordello and/or jail. Anyway, here's what it looks like from the inside:
Ahhh! The orbs are attacking! I'll try to think them to death!:
Here's the other entrance/exit from the outside:
Heading back out through the rock garden. Here's the video. Hit the bolder correctly on the way out. On the way back just past the rock garden you have to navigate down a small creek. Near the end you can hear us adding some more Arizona pin striping from the bush. Here's the video. We left through Box Canyon. Maybe we could crank this up and get some electricity out here:
Maybe not:

Getting closer - the cabins are located in the notch between the two ridges in the upper left:
Just before the Rock Garden, there's always someone who has to get the best angle:
In the rock garden:

Another angle:
Maybe a little too much flex - the spring popped off:
Using a crowbar and some muscle to get it back in place:
Moved up to the "cave":
Walking up to it:

Lunch time - too bad we didn't have some wood as a fire would have been nice:
The cabin is still there:
After lunch and checking out the area we then traveled to the Coke Ovens. If you have any questions or comments about this page click here to send email.Last modified: December 21, 2009 06:43:59 PM |
