Another view from the tree:

One of the taller Ponderosa Pine trees:

There's even cactus growing among the rocks:

There's lots of dead wood to removed:

Well, it kind of works, but a truck would be a lot better:

04/19/2013: It is!

A day of moving wood to the local pit (we dumped 7 loads):

The green area is cleared and the red area is stacked:

04/21/2013: Joe brought his new truck up so we had two trucks for the day:

We took 14 loads to the dump:

Looks pretty clear here now:

05/27/2013: It's still May, and there are some new flowers (Pin Striped Penstemon?):

Apache Plume:

The Apache Plume grow in bushes:

Most of the flowers here are small - note the tip of Jane's shoe in the bottom of the picture (Baby White Aster?):

We found these Two-Lobe Larkspur on the slope leading down to the dry creek:

The green area is cleared and the red area is stacked, and we finished planting our Ponderosa Pine in 5 groups (34 seedlings). Also the proposed driveway in yellow:

The green area is cleared and the red area is stacked, and the proposed driveway in yellow:

06/23/2013: Time to move more wood. Where's the help?

08/18/13: We didn't update the map as we've been there but got rained out before re-mapping things. Speaking of rain, there are more flowers in bloom because of the rain:

08/25/13: There are still more flowers in bloom because of the rain:

09/02/13: We didn't get to update the map as we got rained out again. Speaking of rain, there is even more yellow flowers and green because the rain keeps coming:

09/22/13: We were finally able to stay the whole day and were able to show how much we cleared over the past few weeks. The green area is

cleared, the red area is stacked, and the proposed driveway and house in yellow:

The monsoon rains stopped a week ago, but there's still a lot of color:

We walked around and saw Nicotiana near the dry creek

Like spiders? We saw him crossing the road and helped him to a safer place away from tires:

09/29/13: Cleared more today - almost finished clearing the stacked wood on the left: The green area is cleared, the red area is stacked, and the

driveway and house are in yellow (mapped the yellow areas based on actual construction):

This guy was watching us do some work:

His colors work well with the surroundings:

10/6/13: Cleared more today - finished clearing the stacked wood on the left. Cleared up the map:

Seems pretty happy:

6/14/14: Watering the trees and noticed a fire - view from our street:

It's the Jack Fire and growing - view from our property:

Another view from our property - fortunately the wind is blowing the fire away from our property:

A spotter plane:

Drove north and at the road block (about 5 miles down the road) saw an air tanker about to drop fire retardant:

The Payson Hot Shot Crew heading to the fire:

8/2/14: The septic leach field is complete, so we'll try planting some wild flower seeds in the field:

8/10/14: Here's what we've cleared this yea and was cleared for the septic - the green area is cleared, the yellow area is stacked, the driveway is dark blue and the house is light blue:

Cleared area near the house:

We sowed the wild flower seeds on 8/8, and watered every day. A couple of small seeds are starting to pop up:

We saw a number of these:

A few of these - I think they were already growing before we sowed the seeds:

Some of these:

And our first "official" wild flower - a Spiderwort. In the background you can see a number of them coming up. The seed package didn't included these plants so they're really wild flowers:

8/24/14 - Maybe you can see a little growth:

This is another "wild" wild flower - Horse Nettle:

Another young plant:

Some seedlings:

More seedlings:

8/31/14 - More plants coming up:

Here's a wild flower - not sure what it is yet:

This one hasn't bloomed yet:

Something else growing:

A number of plants here:

Almost ready to bloom:

Another different plant:

Finally one we can identify - Albert's Creeping Zinnia:

We have a number of these - Fleabane:

There a lot of these too - snake weed?:

9/6/14 - You can see a lot of small plants now, unfortunately the elk came through and ate the tops off of a number of the bigger ones:

Here's a wild flower that we transplanted:

We're getting a lot of these - Anoda cristata (Crested anoda):

It's hard to see in this picture, but this grass has a light purple top:

Wonder what these are:

Found a couple of these vines:

9/13/14 - More small plants and the elk are still foraging:

9/19/14 - More small plants - it looking pretty green but most of it is crab grass and other weeds:

We finally caught the vine blooming - it's a type of Scarlet Morning Glory:

Here's another variation:

The elk seem to like the taste of these - most were chewed down to the ground:

9/28/14 - I don't think the plants will be doing much more this year. The cows came through and ate all of the big ones and it will be getting colder now:

We walked down to our portion of the usually dry creek and found a puddle from yesterdays rain:

10/5/14 - Looks about the same:

Some of the flowers that are still blooming:

1/3/15 - Happy New Year! It snowed late last year so we came up to see what was what.
Here's the road to our community - looks like the snow is still around:

The cul-de-sac was plowed and our driveway hasn't been used yet, so...

...take the Jeep in:

Looks like some small animals have been around:

Still fresh snow outside the house:

It's six inches deep:

Some of the snow slid off the roof making it a bit deeper here:

The side yard looks nice with the snow:

Out back:

The lift looks a bit snowed in:

A different angle out back:

Looking out toward East and West Sunset Mountian:

Have you ever seen horizontal icicles?

A closer view - High winds? Extra Terrestrials? Earthquake? Anti-gravity field? Snow sliding off the
roof and the icicles curved in?

Look a friend out front:

He sure can hold a pose:

Snow angel:

Watch out:

Watch out yourself:

1/19/15 - On the access road into the development we saw a new neighbor:

5/9/15 - It snowed the night before:

5/16/15 - A double rainbow that looks like the pot of gold is right under one of our trees:

5/24/15 - The Javelina like the leach field:

6/3/15 - Some of the cactus are blooming:

More:

Some flowers:
